The Democrat & Chronicle Names Flaherty Salmin CPAs A Four-Time Winner Of The Rochester Top Workplaces Award

ROCHESTER, NY (MARCH 28, 2019) – Flaherty Salmin CPAs has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2019 honor for the fourth consecutive year by The Democrat and Chronicle, placing in the top 50% of employers for the small business category. This honor is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC, a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection, to name a few.

“The people at Flaherty Salmin create an environment that makes showing up to work every day an enjoyable experience. The culture is all about treating people with respect whether they are employees or clients,” said an employee in response to the survey question, “I love my job because…”

“For us, the employee survey feedback is the most valuable part of participating in Top Workplaces. Flaherty Salmin is very interested in hearing how our employees think and feel about their work experience—whether positive or negative. We use this information to enhance our culture, while also working to continuously improve. Getting recognized as a Top Workplace is icing on the cake,” says Tim Flaherty, Managing Partner. “Our employees are our number one priority…when they’re happy, our clients are happy, too.”

In a recent client satisfaction survey, Flaherty Salmin achieved a net promoter score more than four times higher than the accounting industry average, earning them the 2018 Best of Accounting Award from Inavero, an independent satisfaction survey company. “We’re humbled and honored every time we’re recognized by employees and clients. As the ninth largest CPA firm in Rochester, we’re often looking for top talent to join our team. We believe that being a great place to work is the best way to accomplish that.”

“Top Workplaces is more than just recognition,” said Doug Claffey, CEO of Energage. “Our research shows organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement. Becoming a Top Workplace isn’t something organizations can buy,” Claffey said. “It’s an achievement organizations have worked for and a distinction that gives them a competitive advantage. It’s a big deal.”
